Stood on my Lake County lot today. It felt good. A nice, flattish, almost square, parcel on iron ore, covered with wild oats and deer droppings. No trees, but lots of oaks, manzanitas, and poison oak on the surrounding lots. Hard to get to by road; many of the roads shown on Google Maps are either nonexistent or closed (perhaps illegally). From the roundabout by Sentry supermarket: right onto Pyle; right onto Garden; right onto Lincoln; left onto Sherman; somehow get onto Main from there. [comment]

Friday night I was at a friend's house for dinner outdoors. At one point, I was alone in the garden and, noticing a cancerweed (Euphorbia peplus) plant, decided to try a drop of its latex on a small recent growth on my lower left eyelid. I did it and forgot about it; until at some point later in the evening I rubbed my eye. OUCH. It burned like hell for probably an hour until I fell asleep, and was uncomfortable for about 24 hours.
It wasn't until the next day that I remembered what I should have done. Occupy medics learned that to treat pepper spray, milk in a spray bottle worked well. The lipids absorbed the irritants and the water carried them away. I thought of using the little ultrapasteurized single-serving half-and-half containers seen at fast-food places, then my lady mentioned using them as eye cups. Hope to have some ready for next time I do something stupid. [comment]

Just noticed a new lipoma on the left side of my groin, about the size of a robin's egg, to balance out the chicken's-egg-sized one on the right. Oh, joy. [comment]
